ARE YOUR LEARNERS SKIMPING THROUGH VIDEO CONTENT?
Keep Learners Engaged Using Interactive Video Techniques
According to Mental Health America, clinical depression has become one of America’s most costly illnesses costing over $51 billion in absenteeism from work with lost productivity, and $26 billion in direct treatment costs.
Having personally experienced depression, I felt this project resonated well with me. My time was spent exploring new ways to push creative boundaries with interactive video, gif implementation, image creativity, composition, among others.
Pipeline for Developing Mixed Interactions
In a previous post, I demonstrated how to use Adobe Captivate interactive video capability, and in this project, I challenged myself and decided to use a similar technique in Articulate Storyline, thus proving both programs equally suited for interactive video development. Here is the workflow I used.
Volumax:
I converted a still photo
into 2.5D perspective using the
Volumax plugin for Adobe After Effects.
Pixabay:
Using creative imagery from
Pixabay, I tweaked an image
to match the course intro.
Animated Gifs:
I pre-rendered animated png’s and
imported them into Adobe Photoshop
for conversion.
How I Push creative boundaries with tools
There is a lot you can do with plugins, Javascript code snippets, 3D, add-ons, and many more. Experimentation is a thrilling journey. I have put together a tutorial that shows how to boot out freeze presenter photos in your CBT and infuse some life into them, making them mimic 3D panning. I accredit those organizations that provide information that highlights depression and encourage support to victims.
